With the introduction of the Spokeo version 4 by the California based Company and ZabaSearch continuously providing personal information to searchers using the internet brought concerns to the law enforcement. It was confirmed that this social network aggregator site is gathering data, personal or public, from an individuals not only with social networking sites but also with other sources that could contain mailing list, real estate listing and even credit information.
By just typing the name of the individual you want to search in their website you can already access the residence, telephone numbers, birthdays and etc.
Furthermore, the data being gathered and collected focuses on estimated property and wealth values of a person or a business. With this unlimited access, the law enforcers are alarmed that this could be used for cyberstalking. A lot of complaints are being received by the search site for providing personal information.
The company is now doing its best to minimize the impact of the complains by implementing additional controls for providing credit information of individuals.
