Salmonella Egg Recall List: Complete Egg Brands Recalled Advisory – Few days ago, a massive nationwide shell egg recall happened due to potential salmonella contamination that has been expanded to include recently egg produced as of Wednesday, August 18, 2010. This was being found from the egg farms of Wright County Egg in Galt.
This is your best time to check your egg cartons as more and more egg brands are being added to the recalled egg list today. Initially, there was 380 millions of egg being reported in the egg recall list.
After the said breaking news, the Hillandale Farms of Iowa, Inc. became the second large egg producer to issue a voluntary recall for this month. Some states later one were included in the list of affected by the egg recall that includes Colorado, California and Minnesota.
Apparently, several Egg Recall Brands are now included in the list of egg recalled and these include:
- Hillandale Farms
- Sunny Farms
- Sunny Meadow
- Wholesome Farms
- West Creek.
The Hillandale Farms eggs are widely distributed across the country to many states, including Arkansas, California, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.
Upon confirmation of the Wright County Egg distribution of different brands of eggs, the following are brands of eggs affected by the recall and these includes:
- Lucerne
- Albertson
- Mountain Dairy
- Ralph’s
- Boomsma’s
- Sunshine
- Hillandale
- Trafficanda
- Farm Fresh
- Lund
- Dutch Farms
- and Kemps.
If you happened to by those eggs from the list of brands that have been mentions, you should carefully check the carton or plant numbers P-1026, P-1413 and P-1946 as these cartons were reported for possibilities of affected by the Salmonella outbreak.
Meanwhile, some company like Nucal Foods of Ripon in California, which distributed the eggs coming from the Hillandale Farms of Iowa, voluntarily had their egg recall today. The Nucal Foods distributes egg to retailers in California and Nevada, added larger cartons of Baywiew, Call Egg, Becky and Lucerne.
Check your carton now because the affected eggs were being packed into all types of containers that include 6-egg, 12-egg, 18-egg and 30-egg cartons. You should also check those repackaging eggs into trays containing 5 dozens or more eggs.
Upon checking your eggs, if you happen to confirm that the eggs were included in the list of Egg Recall Brands, please do not eat nor cook them and instead, return the said items to the store where you brought them and ask for a refund.
Consumers should be aware now as the Salmonella outbreak is being spread across the country thru these Egg recall brands. Salmonella is considered as rod-shaped bacteria which can cause an illness like a typhoid fever, food borne illness salmonellosis and even paratyphoid fever. Symptoms of this illness include diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps and vomiting which will occur after 8 to 72 hours of infection.
Updates:
Two more egg brands has been added to the list of egg recalled today. The Wright County Egg has confirmed that it has found salmonella in the Cardenas Market brand. Affected cartons have the plant number 1026 on the side and Julian dates between 136 and 228.
Apparently, the Trafficanda Egg Ranch also confirmed for containing salmonella in some of its egg from Wright County. Affected plant numbers are 1026, 1413, 1720, 1942 and 1946, with Julian dates between 136 and 229.
