No Pictures Allowed While Naomi Campbell Testifies At War Crimes Trial-On Tuesday, War crimes Judges barred photographers from taking pictures of Naomi Campbell while entering or leaving the courtroom. Campbell has been a witness in a war crime trial over former Liberian President Charles Taylor.
The court asserted that they just want to ensure Campbell’s security.
The supermodel is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday. But there might be changes in the schedule because Taylor’s lawyers submitted a motion last week to delay Campbell’s appearance in court.
But the judges have not yet decided on the motion.
Naomi Campbell has been summoned to testify over reports that she allegedly received diamonds from Taylor.
Charles Taylor is on trial at UN-backed tribunal and has been accused of selling diamonds and buying weapons for Sierra Leone’s rebels, who perpetrated the brutal atrocities during the civil war in 1991-2001.
Prosecutors just want to know whether Campbell received diamonds from Charles Taylor at a reception hosted by Nelson Mandela in South Africa in 1997.
