UFC 119′s Mir vs. Cro Cop Fight is Yawn-Inducing Match 0

The last night’s fight that we’ve witnessed on UFC 119 from Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis featured the main event of the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir vs. Mirko “cro Cop” Filipovic. The fight was considered a lusterless performance despite the fact that it was the only knockout of the night.

The first and second round is a considerable yawn-inducing moment. The two fighters for these times were seemed to be inactive and with the referee trying to set apart the two.

When the third round entered, nothing much more happened from the fight between Mir and Cro Cop. The referee was still making the two men from constant separations that consumed much of the time. It was like the referee is trying to ask some favors to the fighters to be more combative.

It was all a rather sorry affair and in the closing stages of the final round Frank Mir finally took his chance and landed a right knee to Cro Cop that knocked him senseless and the fight was stopped.

Their match has been planned way before Carwin defeated Mir in UFC 111 and acquired his Interim Heavyweight belt but during that time Lesnar was sick and couldn’t fight. That’s why their match has been postponed. After UFC 116, whoever wins the heavyweight title will then face the next challenger in the person of Cain Velasquez as being confirmed by UFC President Dana White.
